Benefits of a CBD Massage

Our team of professional massage therapists are here to help - we understand the treatment and the condition.

For starters, let's talk about CBD - full name cannabidiol - which is non-psychoactive and is found in high concentrations in cannabis and hemp (not to be confused with THC, which is the psychoactive part of the cannabis plant that people associate with the "high" feeling).  When incorporated into a Tri-Covery Massage, the only difference is the product used not the massage technique itself.  So, while it may sound like a different form of a traditional massage, a CBD massage is just that: a massage performed with CBD-infused oils and creams

In the early 1990s, scientists found a mechanism in the human body that mimics the molecular shape of plant cannabinoids and named it the endocannabinoid system of receptors and naturally occurring molecules. In addition, they find that the existence of plant cannabinoids, such as CBD, stimulates the normal development of endocannabinoids in our body and essentially allows the endocannabinoid mechanism to "turn on to its maximum extent.

Maintaining homeostasis within our different body systems is the primary function of the endocannabinoid system. In other words, when we have gotten out of control, it exists to restore us to biochemical equilibrium. Further research has shown that endocannabinoid receptors are found in the body: throughout the brain and nerves, in the skin, in the immune system, in the bone, in the fat, in the liver, in the pancreas, in the lungs, in the heart, in the blood vessels, in the kidneys, in the reproductive organs and in the intestinal tract. The endocannabinoid pathway acts in both of these locations to restore the body to homeostasis and optimal functioning. CBD has been shown to have an effect on a broad range of biological functions, such as pain, memory, mood, appetite, stress, sleep, metabolism, immune function, and reproductive function, by activating our own endocannabinoid system.

In terms of your health, implementing CBD into your regular routine via tinctures, oils, and lotions has shown to have amazing anti-inflammatory, antidepressant, and antibacterial properties.

How can CBD, like Serenity Medical CBD and OMG, increase the benefits of Massage?

It is important to obtain many of the advantages by taking an internal CBD substance, such as a tincture or edible. Consultation with a specialist before internal use is advised due to the association of CBD with certain drugs. In the other hand, a CBD massage is healthy for all, making the advantages of CBD available to all, while loving the gifts of touch. It is necessary to look at the ingredients when choosing a topical CBD substance, such as oil or cream. Many oils are unable to reach the many layers of the skin, such as almond or coconut oil, so CBD blended into these oils is not effective in bringing CBD into the deeper layers of tissue. However there are specific carrier oils, as well as other essential oils, which are capable of penetrating the skin layers and accessing the nerves, connective tissue, and blood vessels into the tissues below. It is able to deliver the CBD into deeper tissue layers as CBD is mixed with these particular oils, maximizing its value to the body.

A CBD massage specifically has natural anti-inflammatory effects that can more effectively soothe sore muscles and joints, which makes it great for massages.  It encourages the body to speed up the healing process and is beneficial in relieving anxiety as well as gastric distress.

After you receive your CBD massage just chill out!  There's no need to hop in the shower - in fact, it's advised against.  By going about the rest of your day with the CBD cream still intact, you will be able to benefit from the calming ingredient for hours to come!
