How Does RockTape® Kinesiology Therapy Work?

RockTape® microscopically lifts the skin away from the muscle and fascia below, creating a decompressive effect. Applied along the fascial lines of the body, the tape helps the body move by stimulating stabilization, increasing range of motion, and absorbing impact.

RockTape® – Stabilization for Movement

Picture a baseball pitcher throwing a fastball while standing on a sheet of ice. Less stability results in less power and range of motion to affect a suitable throw. That same pitcher on a prepared baseball pitcher’s mound has the stability necessary to exert all possible force to throw a 90+ mph fastball.

Tri-Covery therapists apply RockTape® to help the body feel stabilized for the brain to allow the added range of motion.   Troubled portions of the body, such as shoulders, hips or ankles, in order to provide the stimulation needed to increase range of motion and free movement.

RockTape® Therapy Improves Blood Flow

RockTape® lifts layers of tissue to improve blood flow and healing. Imagine puppies lying between thick, heavy quilts on a bed.  They would struggle moving and air circulation would be very poor.  Now imagine a light down comforter filled with fluffy feathers instead of the crushing quilts.  The puppies would be able to move around easier, have better air circulation and the layers of down blankets would be easier to slide back and forth.  (No puppies were harmed or used during the fictional example.)

This is the theory behind RockTape® therapy for improved blood flow. The layers of skin are microscopically lifted to allow for decreased pressure on the blood vessels, nerves and the lymphatic system. This allows freer movement of blood, lymph and oxygen, and speeds the healing process.
