Jeff is fantastic!!! He has fixed my ailments for years. I just haven't been in because I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery. I'm also not sure how my body(hip) would take to being face down for some work on back and shoulders. I'll be back as soon as I can get active again.

I had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis about 6 months ago. One side effect that I had prior to my hysterectomy and continue to deal with is my hip SI joint. My left joint is completely locked, and my right side is way too loose. For those that don’t know when one of your SI joints gets stuck, it means that one of your hip bones rotates backward and becomes wedged against the sacrum. Your range of motion is impeded making everything more difficult and painful. It's hard to put shoes and socks on because the range isn’t there. The pain is like having a herniated disk. U of M has been great and had me in physical therapy. However, the therapy only provided short-term temporary relief. My next step with U of M is to inject the SI Joint with anesthetic material along with cortisone steroid into the SI Joint guided by X-ray or ultrasound. While I have been waiting over a month for this appointment my good friend Jeff Kong at Tri-Covery reached out to me to see how I was healing from my hysterectomy. I explained everything to him and said that I wanted to come in before that injection to loosen up my muscles and facia and again after I have the injection. He said that would be great and told me that they had a new machine that he thought I could use. It’s called PEMF and treats a wide range of things including surgical scar tissue. He said he thought of me specifically because of all my scar tissue from my endometriosis and past surgeries. I said sure put me on the schedule. PEMF or Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field Therapy sends magnetic energy into your body. These energy waves work with your body’s natural magnetic field to improve healing. When you have surgery you have damaged tissues, scar tissue, inflammation, etc. PEMF therapy increases blood and tissue oxygenation and reduces surgical inflammation deep inside your body that a typical massage just cannot get to. So far, I have had 3 treatments and it’s a game changer here. I still have pain from m

Jeff is doing a masterful job in treating a pinched nerve in my neck.....both massage and suggestions for stretches to do on my own. Great work, Jeff!

I am a new client of Tri-Covery. I have had some hip issues while running longer distances. After 2 visits with Jeff, I have seen wonderful results! The massage and stretching work has provided much needed relief! Jeff also provided several tips for at home and pre-run stretches. I am very pleased with the experience and would recommend this group to anyone!

I have been going to Tri-Covery for a little over 6 years now, and my experiences have been nothing but positive. Jeff has always had a personal touch in my treatment and is always able to work out my issues that pop up as a competitive collegiate long distance runner. I’ve had issues with my knees, IT band, hips just to name a few during. Jeff is always able to meet with me before classes or a race on short notice for a quick session. Tri-Covery is always able to not only help with my injuries, but also explain preventive methods as well. It always blows my mind how intelligent the therapists at Tri-Covery are about the human body and how it moves. I would recommend Tri-Covery to anyone who moves and needs to feel better.

Jeff Kong & his knowledgeable staff at Tri-Covery have kept me in the swim of things for years. Tri-Covery has helped me prepare for open water swims with stretching & strength exercises and helps me recover, injury free, even after an English Channel crossing. Regular visits help keep me motivated, focused, and feeling strong. Tri-Covery staff members are master communicators. They constantly tell you what they are doing while asking important questions. They also make the effort to get to know each individual and treat you as a friend.

Tri-covery is a place to find serious sports massage. I’m disappointed that Yelp! has massage listed under “beauty and spas” since what you’ll find here is more of a “treatment for sore, overused muscles”. While the suite itself is a little hard to find, the space is cozy and inviting. Jeff is an easy going friendly guy who takes the time to get to know his clients, what they need, and what they’re looking for when they come in.

I cannot say enough good things about Jeff or his work. In 2006 I decided, against my body’s better wishes to become a runner and triathlete. As a result, I’ve been working with him since 2007 or 08 (when he was working out of another establishment). But now he has his own place! Jeff is a very talented, reliable sports massage therapist with a wide range of knowledge. In addition to getting help recovering from my various athletic endeavors, I’ve learned so much about how muscles in the human body work together, and things to do to help keep from getting hurt. I would not be where I am today (running more, slightly faster miles) without him.

So, next time you overdo it mountain biking, or realize you can’t quite turn your head to the left anymore, this is the place to go. The next time you want a “spa day” with your friends…I can’t help you. I’m sure there are plenty of those places around, too.

I have been going to Jeff for Spring of 2015. Having had multiple orthopedic surgeries and resulting soft tissue damage, I use his therapy to manage my pain. I cannot say enough good things about Jeff as a person, and as a therapist. I have been to other therapists over the years since a hip surgery gone wrong, and he is by far the best. I would highly recommend his services for any type of injury or trauma needs management. He will do his best to listen and work with you, giving you 100 percent. My only complaint is I didn’t discover Tri-Covery sooner!

I have been coming to Tri-Covery since Jeff opened his doors! When I started training for marathons, I learned quickly that I need several tools to get to the starting line uninjured. Sports massage is one of those tools. Over the years, Jeff has worked on my problem areas, while giving good advice and recommendations. Ice, ice, and more ice!
Jeff really wants to help his clients and is truly excited when they are successful in their athletic endeavors. As long as I’m running, I’ll be coming to Tri-Covery for my physical (and moral) support.

As an athlete, recovery is just as important as my workouts. Jeff did an incredible job on loosening up my locked-down hips and back and I am ready for the Chicago Marathon this weekend. I’ve gone to many massage therapists in the past, and would definitely go back to Tri-Covery for recovery purposes in the future. Thanks, Jeff for allowing me to touch my toes again.

Tri-Covery offers a unique blend of techniques kind of like massage, stretch and physical therapy all mixed into one. Jeff and his team are trained in cutting edge therapies that are similar to what pro and elite athletes get from their team trainers in order to keep their performance optimal. They use a variety of methods and things that just aren’t widely available or that your average masseuse/therapist really knows about.

As a casual athlete and amateur runner, triathlete and weight lifter, I found my body getting tighter and tighter over the years of training causing injuries and longer recovery times. I’ve tried deep tissue massage, chiropractic care, physical therapy, foam rolling, yoga/stretching with only minimal results. Tri-Covery has given me by far the best solution for my severe tightness and exercise related discomfort. The results are fast and pretty dramatic. I was almost ready to give up running until I started seeing Becky. Now I’m ready to sign up for my next half marathon. And that’s after 3 sessions.

I’ve seen Jeff, Becky and Chris and all three are amazing therapists. They really understand the way the body’s muscle and connective tissue work together. When you come to them with a problem, they can figure out exactly what’s causing it–and often it’s different than what you think it is–and how to fix it. This place is a definite must for everyone experiencing soft tissue issues or injury, especially sports related. Best of all, Jeff and his team are deeply caring people and it’s clear they are passionate about helping clients become pain free and able to pursue their physical goals.

I’m so glad I tried out Tri-Covery Massage & Fitness. I’ve had SI-joint pain for 10 years with very little relief from steroid injections, various prescription drugs, two different chiropractors, and two rounds of physical therapy (not to mention lots of money spent on MRIs and doc appointments). I haven’t been able to run in years; sitting for more than 20 minutes would aggravate it; even walking could trigger stabbing pain. After my second visit with Jeff, I began to experience a RELIEF from pain on a daily basis.

Jeff did lots of stretching with me on my first visit, talking me through every single one and enlightening me about my own muscles and how various ones were affecting my SI joint area. My second and third visits were more massage-focused and it seems he’s some sort of muscle-joint-bone whisperer, because I’ve noticed a significant reduction of aches and stabs in my pelvis that I would normally feel multiple times a day. I can’t even fully explain how cool it was on my second visit when Jeff found some painful areas near my SI joint and literally worked them free of that pain. It would start out painful when he touched, but he would (gently) persist and the pain would dissipate. It was amazing.
I would highly recommend Jeff and his team if you’re dealing with chronic pain. I have no idea how my SI-joint got to be so jacked up over the years, but it’s finally receiving what it needs.

I met Jeff this past summer while I was training for the 2011 Detroit Free Press Marathon. I had joined a Running Fit training group for long distance running (501 group) and Jeff came to lecture the us about recovery and how to sort out issues we may have had during the training process.

I was having some issues with my calf and went to see him. I was very impressed with his level of knowledge and experience for sorting out what we going wrong. He was able to quickly see I was compensating with one side over another and was able to articulate what he thought was happening. It gave me a completely new outlook on how my body was reacting to the training. He also gave me advice on how to continue the training with stretching and ice baths, etc. So not only did I receive a massage, I also received tips on how to train smart. With his help, I was able continue the training injury free and my calf issues eventually went away.

If you’re an athlete training for a sporting event, I’d highly recommend going to see Jeff! You won’t be disappointed.

I have been training with and getting massages from Jeff Kong for over 5 years. I have a chronic back condition that can be very difficult to deal with at times. He REALLY listens to what is going on and what areas need attention on any particular day. He uses any of the great variety of methods and techniques that he feels will help me that particular day. When I schedule a massage before a visit to my chiropractor, it greatly helps the ease of adjustment and relaxes my muscles so I have a better chance of STAYING aligned after my adjustment. He’s one of the BEST and I would and DO highly recommend him!

As both an athlete and a personal trainer, I understand the benefits of sports massage first-hand. When my body needs a rejuvenating massage, I call Jeff. If a friend, family member or training client can benefit from sports massage, the only name I give them is Jeff Kong. Very few people have the combined skill set of athlete, trainer and massage therapist with a functional knowledge of the body like Jeff. I never hesitate to recommend him, and you shouldn’t hesitate to call him.

I went to Jeff with a nagging shoulder pain. Jeff quickly identified what it was and how to help it to heal. Most importantly, he showed me stretches and exercises to help keep from injuring it again.

Jeff’s expert knowledge of fitness, strengthening, and conditioning exercises really helped us get started on a simple in home program to help us stay fit and keep our weight in control. After only a couple of visits he was able to teach us dozens of routines that we could work on in our home without having to invest in any expensive equipment. Jeff is such a personable professional, he makes doing your exercises fun. Thanks to Jeff we now have more energy and feel our bodies are better toned! Also, his messages will do wonders for any tense muscles or stiffness you may be experiencing. If you want expert, personalized fitness training we highly recommend Tri-Covery Massage & Fitness.

I have been seeing Jeff now for several years, and I can say without any hesitation, that he is the finest massage therapist in the land. Not only is he skilled and knowledgeable, but he is also one of the nicest people you will ever come across. Jeff takes the time to access your needs and concerns, and then skillfully goes to work on your problem areas. I would recommend Jeff to anyone who desires massage therapy delivered in a relaxing, friendly and professional environment

I though I had a session booked on Tuesday, May 12 but it's not showing up in my account. Bev called Sam a couple of weeks ago and rescheduled both of us from Tuesday, April 21 to Tuesday, May 12. I know that given the circumstances that we may get rescheduled again but wanted to make sure we're booked if not. Hope to see you soon- Annie
