Jeff Kong

Jeff Kong has built Tri-Covery around his unique blend of experiences as an athlete, trainer and massage therapist. Client and professional referrals account for the continued growth of Tri-Covery.

Sports trainers/coaches, physicians and other therapists frequently send their clients to Tri-Covery to experience the benefits of the specialized approach and therapies offered here.

Sports Trainer/Massage Therapist

Jeff received his massage therapy training under the late Irene Gauthier, known nationally as “The Grandmother of Massage,” founder of the Irene’s Myomassology Institute. In 1999, Jeff began gaining experience as both a sports trainer and a massage therapist. It was during this time that Jeff discovery how well the two applications complemented each other and could benefit his clients.

By 2006, Jeff’s unique combination of massage and sports training had developed a strong clientele of endurance athletes such as marathoners, triathletes, adventure racers and cyclists. His skills were helping many athletes recover from their strenuous athletic training and injuries.

In 2010, Jeff stepped out on his own to fulfill his vision for a new type of massage therapy facility – Tri-Covery. At Tri-Covery, Jeff and his highly-trained staff, deliver the most effective therapies available for improvement of physical dexterity and recovery from injuries.

  • I have been going to Jeff for Spring of 2015. Having had multiple orthopedic surgeries and resulting soft tissue damage, I use his therapy to manage my pain. I cannot say enough good things about Jeff as a person, and as a therapist. I have been to other therapists over the years since a hip surgery gone wrong, and he is by far the best. I would highly recommend his services for any type of injury or trauma needs management. He will do his best to listen and work with you, giving you 100 percent. If you’re doing any type of hard training, I highly recommend adding Tri-Covery as part of your regimen. I see Brian Anzures and he is great; He listens to me whine about my aches/pains of the day and provides helpful feedback (e.g., stretches and movements to help with my issues)!

  • I met Jeff this past summer while I was training for the 2011 Detroit Free Press Marathon. I had joined a Running Fit training group for long distance running (501 group) and Jeff came to lecture the us about recovery and how to sort out issues we may have had during the training process.

    I was having some issues with my calf and went to see him. I was very impressed with his level of knowledge and experience for sorting out what we going wrong. He was able to quickly see I was compensating with one side over another and was able to articulate what he thought was happening. It gave me a completely new outlook on how my body was reacting to the training. He also gave me advice on how to continue the training with stretching and ice baths, etc. So not only did I receive a massage, I also received tips on how to train smart. With his help, I was able continue the training injury free and my calf issues eventually went away.

    If you’re an athlete training for a sporting event, I’d highly recommend going to see Jeff! You won’t be disappointed.
